Shiraz Special Prize Call in the 3rd International Multimedia Festival of Cultural Heritage
The Holy Shrine (Astan) of Ahmad ibn Musa Shahcheragh (PBUH) and the revered Imams of Fars Province, intangible heritage, rituals and religious ceremonies of Muharram and Safar, Ta’zieh (Passion Play) performances, local and traditional rituals and customs, ethnic culture, local music, nomadic migration; 4. Traditional arts and architectural adornments (handicrafts, historical handmade artifacts, architecture and building decorations, traditional crafts, etc.); 5. Distinguished figures and renowned individuals of Fars Province in various fields such as history, culture, religion, literature, arts, science, society, the Sacred Defense, sports, and more.
Submitted works should be based on text (screenplay, play, travelogue, poetry, etc.), image (film, television, clip, music video, photography, etc.), sound (music, anthem, effects, podcast, radio programs, audio works, etc.), or interactive formats (digital, smart, applications, websites, etc.).
Interested individuals can submit their works in the following categories:
Photography:
– Special Photography Event (Photo Marathon): To participate in this category, interested individuals must complete the initial registration and submit their resumes. The Shiraz Award Secretariat will invite selected photographers from among the applicants to participate in this competition. These photographers will compete during the festival days along the designated tourism route and according to the predetermined rules and themes of this event.

Architecture and Ethnography Section:
The works include historical buildings, rituals, customs, and events of Fars and Shiraz – Archival Section: Photos with a minimum age of 30 years related to Shiraz or Fars province, focusing on the five main themes of the call for entries.
Virtual Content Production:
Video content creators in the virtual space can participate in the festival by submitting the link to their page, focusing on the five main themes.
Music:
Folk music, traditional classical music, pop music
Theater:
Street performances, stage plays, ritual performances, poetry recitations (such as reciting the works of Hafez, Saadi, etc.)
Written Works:
Screenplays, ideas and experiences, articles, poetry, travelogues, news reports, headlines, news interviews, notes
Visual Arts:
Miniature and gilding, painting, calligraphy painting, calligraphy, posters, catalogs, graphic design, murals, etc.
Cinematic Works:
Feature films, documentaries, short films
Television Works:
Dramas, series, documentaries, animations, music videos, teasers, news reports
Radio Works:
Podcasts, documentaries, radio plays, news reports
Festival Participation Regulations:
Works accepted for this event must align with the following two professional domains:
1. They should directly or indirectly promote the cultural heritage of Fars province, including:
– Tangible heritage (historical, religious, cultural, natural, etc.)
– Intangible heritage (introduction of local and traditional arts, handicrafts, knowledge and skills related to the world and nature, social practices, rituals, cultures, folklore or local ethnic legends, performing arts, and highlighting national and religious figures, etc.)
2. The festival secretariat considers the submitter as the owner of the work, and all responsibilities regarding copyright and related issues rest with the submitter.
Photography Section Regulations:
– Participation from both domestic and international photographers is allowed.
– Each photographer may upload a maximum of 10 individual photographs in each of the two categories: Architecture-Ethnography and Archival on the festival website.
If a work is accepted into the festival, artists must submit the original file to the festival secretariat.
– All composite, manipulated, photo montage, collage images, images with mats, photographer signatures, logos, etc., or any alterations that compromise the authenticity of the photograph will be disqualified at any stage of the competition.
– Editing works is permitted within the scope of color correction, lighting adjustments, contrast, and sharpness.
– Submitted photos must have a larger dimension of 3000 pixels and a maximum file size of 2 megabytes.
– In the archival section, photos accepted into the festival must be submitted on time for scanning and publication. It is essential that only physically existing photos (hard copies, negatives, or positives) be entered into the festival.
– The festival secretary will make decisions regarding unforeseen matters.
**Submission Method:
Artists and interested individuals may submit their works by following the steps below until October 7, 2024.

3. Access the “Shiraz Special Award Registration Form” and complete the registration form.
4. Submit the completed form along with the work using one of the following methods:
a. Upload and send it to the email address: shirazfestival@farschto.ir

c. Deliver the work on a CD to the provincial secretariat at the following address: Shiraz, Lotfallikhān Zand Street, Alley 37, next to Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, Nasir al-Mulk Historic House.

The submitted works in this section must relate to the field of tangible and intangible heritage of Fars province. All works will be sent to the national festival secretariat for judging. A confirmation of receipt will be sent to participants.
Important Criteria for Judging Works:
The key criteria for evaluating works include the “capacity of the work to become a system, creative ideation, and storytelling of cultural heritage, characterization, and reimagining of culture-based industries.”
Festival Awards:
In this festival, outstanding works across various formats that align with the festival’s objectives will be honored with the Shiraz Award trophy, a diploma of excellence, and valuable cash and non-cash prizes.
Deadline for Submitting Works: October 7, 2024
In case of an extension for the submission deadline, announcements will be made via the festival website.
Award Presentation: The awards will be presented concurrently with the festival’s closing ceremony in November 2024.
