Message from Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri to the Third International Cultural Heritage Multimedia Festival: Cultural Works and Elements as Pillars of National Unity
The Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri, addressed the Third International Cultural Heritage Multimedia Festival with the following message:
In the Name of God
“Iranian culture reflects the wisdom of its people in harmonizing with their surroundings. Understanding this culture is achieved through encountering its tangible and intangible cultural heritage, which serves as a mirror reflecting the material and spiritual values of the nation. Each architectural masterpiece, literary work, musical piece, and artistic pattern embodies the foundations and roots of Iranian identity, guiding us toward a brighter future.”
Salehi Amiri emphasized that introducing Iran through its cultural heritage offers a profound perspective of the nation’s essence. “Discussing shared cultural values fosters unity and friendship within the country, and cultural heritage acts as a bridge for dialogue and solidarity, transcending political boundaries. Icons like Nizami Ganjavi and structures like Taq Kasra illustrate Iran’s vast cultural concept, which extends beyond its current political geography. Such cultural exchanges among nations can pave the way for global harmony and cooperation.”
Cultural heritage provides a vast perspective, transcending the physical dimensions of historical artifacts. Properly showcasing these works can reveal hidden layers, meanings, and testimonies long concealed, allowing them to speak of untold stories. Every historical artifact carries within it a fragment of Iranian culture, and through innovative media and technologies, this heritage can serve as a truthful and unaltered narrative of Iranian-Islamic identity. These remnants of the past hold messages that, when communicated effectively, transform them into invaluable assets.
The absence of such messaging renders heritage artifacts dormant, disconnected from the nation’s cultural cycle. The Cultural Heritage Multimedia Festival offers a unique platform to reinterpret these treasures, fostering a deeper understanding of their value. The third iteration of this festival, hosted by the Cultural Heritage Deputy and held in Fars province, introduces multimedia tools to enhance public engagement, fostering greater protection and collective ownership of cultural heritage.
This festival strengthens national unity, presents an authentic image of Islamic Iran to the global community, and inspires grassroots efforts for preserving Iran’s cultural and historical treasures. We look forward to witnessing its enduring impact across society.
Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri
