“Cultural Harmony Through Art: Opening Address at the Third International Cultural Heritage Multimedia Festival”
In an inspiring opening speech at the Third International Cultural Heritage Multimedia Festival in Shiraz, Secretary Alireza Tabesh emphasized the transformative power of cultural heritage and technology. Highlighting the festival’s theme, “Our Iran, Our Heritage; Our Heritage, Our Iran,” Tabesh called for collective action to preserve and celebrate Iran’s rich history, while introducing innovative sections such as Digital Heritage to bridge tradition and modernity. This landmark event, with over 4,500 submissions, symbolizes a collaborative effort to honor Iran’s cultural identity and foster unity through art and creativity.
In the name of God, the Merciful,
Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests,
I am honored to welcome you to Shiraz, the city of poetry and culture, as the Secretary of the Third International Cultural Heritage Multimedia Festival.
This year’s theme, “Our Iran, Our Heritage; Our Heritage, Our Iran,” highlights the critical role of cultural preservation. As emphasized by the Supreme Leader, cultural heritage forms the identity and history of a nation, making its preservation our collective responsibility.
In an age shaped by emerging technologies, this festival serves as a meeting ground for creativity and innovation. From over 4,500 submitted works in cinema, theater, music, television, and research, the festival showcases how these mediums contribute to preserving and transferring cultural heritage to future generations.
This year, the introduction of new sections like Digital Heritage and Ideas and Experiences reflects the dynamic growth of our festival. It has gathered experts and enthusiasts under one roof to protect and celebrate Iran’s monumental legacy.
Drawing inspiration from Hafez, whose tomb in Shiraz symbolizes national unity, I am reminded of his timeless words:
“I am resolved to act, so despair may end.”
This vision of collaboration and shared identity aligns with the Fourteenth Government’s strategy to foster unity across the nation.
I express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ali Darabi and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts for their unwavering support, as well as the city of Shiraz for providing an exceptional venue for this event. I also thank the festival judges and my dedicated team, whose tireless efforts over the past six months have brought us to this moment.
While challenges and limitations exist, I take full responsibility and remain committed to delivering a festival of the highest quality. I extend my deepest appreciation to the artists, participants, and everyone involved in making this event a success.
May this festival strengthen our cultural identity and inspire the next generation to cherish our shared heritage.
Thank you all, and enjoy the festival in this historic and inspiring city.
